Yep. I really wait for the smiles on the water that's the best part, the lack of boat payments is always a plus.

How to Add a Wax to Poly Resin (Recipe)?

Why don't you use the wax? Just wondering.

    Bayliner Capri 2150 resurrection.

Yeah hope to have some time with it on the water in July, August, September. June I'll have to slack off on this boat and get setup for my annual trip to the coast.

Got the floor finally done. Couldn't spray gelcoat like I wanted. So everything was rolled on. Jacked the boat up and got the trailer painted. Working on trim now. Should be done by Christmas. Lol

    Bayliner Capri 2150 resurrection.

Been away for a bit got some work done. Tomorrow I get to lay the final coats of gelcoat inside. I got the texture thing worked out. Was going to use soft sand, but I got to thinking and decided to try a grout sponge to make the texture. I added just a tad bit of cabosil to tighten up the mix...

I never realized until now that I could add a pulpit to this thing. I always thought they were more of a built in item .

Finally got some good weather for boat repair once again. Had been thinking about how I would contour the bench so it wasn't a toe buster.

You'd think the excess fuel would come out the vent though. I don't know why the seat would have anything in it. It's only had fuel fed by the fitting on front on the bench, before that was just a little down the vent tube to fill the bowl up for a quick run up.

Well I didn't give up I did however take a break, a very long one. Starting back to work on the old girl. Last week I swapped out the old points ignition for the newer Delco EST distributor. Everything was off to a great start I got a few good coughs out of the engine to verify timing was in...

    Re-Rebuilding The 72' Bassrunner NVRA2ND

So Dad and I have this old Chrysler Bassrunner we bought about 10yrs ago to go fish out of. We call it Never a 2nd cause when it's time to go fishing there is never a second thought about it just go it to the truck and go. The boat is 14' narrow beam trihull that it is a front tiller steer with...

I need a couple pictures of a SBC powered AQ 290

Thanks sir, Yeah I found the drawing on VP's site at least the part from the pipe off the transom plate to get the part number. I just couldn't figure how they ran that hose and being this is new to me I've never seen this setup installed in another boat. That new arrangement is not nearly as...

I need a couple pictures of a SBC powered AQ 290

I just need to see how the raw water pipe and hose are routed to the pump on a SBC powered 290 or SP drive. I've swapped the 280 for the 290. I've just can't see how the hose routes. The 290 was a AQ131. The pipe is the same but the hose looks like it would have to go up over the valve cover...

Making some more progress the end is finally in sight. I made a bit of a miscalculation on the deck height at the front which left me with a 5/16" drop at the seam. I had played around with how to deal with it many ways and finally today I had a idea that would solve the problem. Yes I know I...

Made the stiffeners for the hardtop mounts last night and added the PB to the perimeter of the deck where the hull and the deck meet. The 1 gallon ziplock bag is my favorite weapon of choice with this boat rebuilding stuff. Put the PB in a gallon ziplock cut the corner and use like a caulk...

    I/O to outboard conversion

Pod/Bracket that term is used pretty loosely from what I can see.

    I/O to outboard conversion

The best thing I ever did on the 19 ft aluminum I had was to put a bracket on. It really made the boat work well and gave me all that extra space back. I would've put a bracket on the Bayliner I'm rebuilding currently but it wasn't in my budget for this year. I left the stern equipped well...

    Bayliner Capri 2150 resurrection.

Now we're getting somewhere. Lastnight I went as far as I could go with the center box the resin was not catalyzed enough for the temp, I went conservative for working time I should've we all in. This morning everything was ready and after a quick hit with the sander to knock down any high spots...

So if you're playing with floatation foam and don't want it all over. I tried this trick tonight. A gallon ziplock fits inside a 2 ¹/2 quarts paint mixing cup and a quart bag fits inside a quart mixing cup. Do your bag with equal parts close the ziplock knead the bag like your girlfriend bewbs...

    Bayliner Capri 2150 resurrection.

Hey what do you know all the parts I was waiting on showed up today. The Y-pipe got here right after calling the place and leaving a voice-mail to get a tracking number. Then the resin showed up. The cabinetry work for the motor cover/bar/bench seat/bait station is laid out niw. I got busy...
