    1981 80hp Mercury throttle problem

    When I go to throttle I am having to repeatedly push in the key chock to keep the boat going. It isnt going fast, slow enough it doesnt wake. I just cleaned the carbs but it still wants to stall out when I throttle it. Could this be from a bad coil? Also could a bad coil cause the 3 & 4 plugs...

    Need help with ignition switch please.

    Hey All, I cannot figure out which wires go where on this switch. I see there are 2 black/yellow wires but only room for 1. I have attached 3 images... The switch, the wires, and the diagram I am trying to follow to getting this hooked up. Any help would be appreciated.

    Is my switchbox bad?

    The boat would die when I would try to put it in gear and throttle it. Then it wouldnt fire at all. I was reading the manual and it said to disconnect the "black/yellow" wire from the switchbox. I did that and the boat fired right up (although it wouldnt shut off by key, I had to choke it...

    It was just laying in the back where the battery goes and I have no clue what it is. I was not hooked up or anything. It has about a 4ft long black single wire to it. Any ideas to what it would be and used for?

    Re: Charging a battery Also, a buddy of mine suggested I have 3 batteries. 1 for the motor, pump, and lights, and 2 just for the trolling motor. 1 battery has both + and - on it, but the other just has wire running from - to + of other battery.
