    Been working on this 85 hp v4 evinrude , Finally got the hard starting problem fixed( fuel pump was bad) Now it doesn't want to shut down when I turn the ignition key off. It runs on for a bit then finally dies. Doesn't do it every time. ? any ideas?

    this motor will not start unless fuel is manually sprayed into cylinders. then it starts right up but runs crappy. After it runs for a few minutes it may start up without priming and it might not.

    Having start and idle issues with an older (1980) evinrude v4. I checked compression which seems a bit low, Around 90 psi across all 4 cylinders.     Good advice! I always use fuel stabilizer in the mix but I never used a water separator. Is it really necessary ?
