    Boats from work.

I forgot to show you guys, but this was the port toon. Remember, this had flat panels covering all of the bottom.

Got both toons on today thanks to the guy helping me. The front holes stoll need drolled out and cover panels put back on.

    Boats from work.

Port side has a big dent and the mount for the transducer is bent up. I don't see why the starboard needs replaced. I didn't really look close, but it just looks like cosmetic damage to me.

Glastron is done. The only other work I did was buff it.

    Gel Coat

You just have to let the first color dry so the tape will stick. I wait about an hour on a good day, then tape over the first flake to do the next color. Jacob, flake can be pretty tricky to get right, and multiple colors makes it so much worse. Do you have prior experience with gel?

    Repair before installing Keelguard?

You don't really need to. The epoxy for the keel guard will stick to it and seal it. Unless some of the damage will extend past the guard.

I missed that. Glanced through the pics too quick.

1995 Grumman deep V 17' Model SP1784 replacing deck floor

Floors are usually 5/8. You'll most likely need stringers and transom too. No treated wood. I would just clean the seats as best as possible and store them for now. You'll have plenty of work and money in the rest.

    Builder question about water displacement

Ok, I'm neither of those, but here's my thinking. More weight = more lower. I get what you're thinking, by lowering the front you increase surface area in contact with water so more floatation surface. But your problem is that the back is too low, not the front is high. So bringing the front...

    Boats from work.

Forgot to post this yesterday. The Cobalt was finished, washed and waxed. Next up is an 01 Glastron. The lift dropped and the boat was rubbing on the dock for a while. Fixing damage at the nose and a gouge on the starboard rear corner. We should find out today if we're doing any more.

    Waterlogged foam?

Here is his other thread on the same topic. There are only 2 pictures, but one shows water about an inch from the edge of the splash well. It briefly went over the well when he got in. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/is-a-lack-of-foam-why-my-boat-is-sitting-too-low.778233/

Best buffing compound or cleaner wax

You would have to thoroughly wipe the whole thing down with wax remover. If that's the plan, get a buffing compound without wax, wash before doing decals, then wax. Before you take off the decals, just know that the gel under them will be a different color because it was protected from fading...

I've never seen one like this before. Two fins sitting on a flat trailer.

    1981 Springbok 18' Restoration/Renovation

Ugh, I suck with drywall. Don't rely on the breakers being labled correctly, use a light pen and double check at the outlet/switch that the power is off. Have fun finding all the janky repairs from previous owners! :)

    Wellcraft transom reinforcement

Yes, plenty of times. Wood rots. I've also seen what happens when glass doesn't bond well. I've peeled it off by hand. I can't say I've had treated wood with glass on it, because neither we or the factories do it. I have done it with that fine weave cloth though, when it didn't have any mat...
