The fuel and oiling in a four-stroke, unlike a two-stroke, are two entirely separate systems. The only reason you'd need to put lubrication (like fogging spray) in the top-end of a four stroke is if you intended to store it for a VERY long time like multiple years (it won't hurt anything though). The top-end lubrication will ensure the cylinders don't dry out and pit, and the rings won't stick over an extended period. This would hardly be an issue over a single winter though as long as you keep the plugs in their holes.
You're better off putting in fuel stabilizer, fresh oil and filter, and run it for about 10 minutes.
Don't forget to put fresh lube in the lower unit.
