My OB has developed a ticking sound and I'm wondering if it might be the Impeller.

I ve searched these forums (AND the owners manual) but can't find:

A chart showing the motor RPM VS (what might be the expected) water flow at that RPM or MINIMUM suggested water pressure.

For example, my OB goes like this:

2000 RPM (nice easy cruise speed for a Pontoon boat) Water gauge reads: 6
3000 RPM " " 10
4400 RPM " " 15
5200 is WOT

On the face of the gauge, there are TWO ARROWS facing each other at the TOP -> <- and putting the needle between the arrows= 15

Water always comes out the "indicator" hole but I'm wondering if "6" is too low and if the impeller might need replacing?

If there is ever a question as to the impeller just change it. When was it changed last? I don't know if there's a chart. If your not overheating or getting an alarm it can't be to bad.

Impeller... When was it changed last?...

Its never been changed. Motor is 5 yrs old but probably has less than 100 hrs. I guess it could be "time for a change" anyway.
