Re: 09/11/02
I don't know how the media coverage of today's solumn ceremonies went overseas, but here in the United States, all went as one would expect...That is, until the ending. Then, the talking heads tried to place political spin and revisionism into the subject..As of the 6PM news the buzzards were still at it!
I am outraged to the limit of my ability to idly watch that garbage.
Instead,I chose to say another prayer for guidance amoung our armed forces,President, and everyone else, that they are allowed to do thier job. I hope nobody stayed home, and cowered on the couch watching Tom "Broke-all".Everyone I know ,even the ones who abuse sick time at werk, were there today. The break room was a busy place, with the ceremony being shown on the TV.
Others went about thier duties, and would listen in on the car radio when able.
I did catch a different picture of the feelings of foriegn countries' populus in spite of the less-than-rosey picture thier media is painting. It's much like those of our friends here on iboats from other countries...Thank God!

The future is a "coin toss" of many diferent variables, and to have those in the media and government use this day as a strategic derrailer, makes me ill. It really does. There is no need for that behaviour, and it is transparent in today's public eye...Or at least it is to many people here, and on other web forums I've been to lately.

People seem to be saying, "No, Tom, we will never turn the other cheek! We will never use those lives to further any cause. We will fix this threat by removing it from the face of the globe wherever we find it".

If this is the case, let the talking heads speak thier peace, then go about our buisness as if they were PLYWOOD.
