1.7DTi Using 15Liter Diesel in 5min... HOW ??

Hi Guys

Please help, i have 2 1.7Dti engines, they have not been startet for 2 years, but they starts very well and have a nice sound.

But!

They have a problem there is a bit expensive! It will make a 7.4 Big block jelouse !

When i start the engines one by one, the engines are using a lot of fuel

10-15L Diesel in 4-5min a idle 2-3min at 1800-2000RPM

Does my diesel pumps need rebuild or what can it be?

right engine: Does not smoke

Left engine, smokes a bit.

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,.... If they've got mechanical primary fuel pumps,..??

Is the sump oil level Risin',..??

It's a diesel. You are only measuring the fuel coming from the tank to the pump, you have a return line from the pump that goes back to the tank.

But Don is it possible for the engines to make such a big vacum ?

It's normal circulation.
Put the return line into your container and the level won't noticeably drop.

Do you have a problem or just playing with it?
