cory, i dont see the blue wire going to the three prong controller plug in your drawing...the blue wire from the motor should go to one of the terminals on the solenoid and the blue wire from the three pin controller plug should go to the solenoid also, but not the same terminal the blue wire from the motor went to. and this all depends on what type of solenoid you have, old or new style...as to what terminals they attach.

This assumes you have a single solenoid on the trim pump motor... (because that's what the drawing looks like).

3 heavier wires from the motor... Black, Blue and Green... Black to ground.. Blue to one of the big terminals on the solenoid. Green to one of the 3 pin connector terminals.

3 wires on the 3 pin connector, Red, Blue and Green... Red to the other big terminal on the solenoid, Green to the motor (as above), Blue to one of the small terminals on the solenoid.

2 big wires from the battery. Red and black.. Black to ground, Red to the same big terminal as the other red on the solenoid....

Also you should have a black from the other small terminal on the solenoid to ground...

AND, as chris has told me a thousand times (and i finally done it) GET a merc manual...all the schematics you need is in there...and again, chris is right about the wiring for these two types of solenoids!

sorry cory, tell me what that solenoid looks like...does it have two big posts out each side or is the big posts positioned on the face of the solenoid?
