WOW - Good call on the magnet! I never thought of that.

As for the silicone, I've been using ultra-black on the outer exhaust plates and hitemp red on the inner one for years and years, with no callbacks. But what you say about it being able to be eaten makes sence too. shrug

-W

jheron,

Can I ask where you had the rebore done? I looked for local places a while back and came up empty handed. Nobody was interested in machining the blind holes. Any leads would be appreciated. I'll put them on file for future reference.

Good luck with your motor.

Quote from rodbolt "once magnetized there is no good way to demagnetize the needles." A sure fire way to demag the needles or any screw drivers is to use an ac coil. A 120 volt solenoid coil works perfect just power it up and pass the needle through it.

AMD Rules, This is where I had mine done. It was a little run down shop behind this guys house(I think his name was John) but it only cost about $200.00 cash(if my memory serves me rite... it may have been less) and he did a good job... 75 hours on it last year with no troubles... I am giving it a paint job now :)
There is a more professional shop here in Kitchener that wanted $80.00 a hole and a 2 week lead time I can get his name too if ya want.

Have ya had your rig in the water yet AMD? What's that gibson lake like over your way? I drive by it weekly and it looks decent from the road?
Regards Jon
