115hp V4 - how well will run run with 60psi on one cylinder?

just like the title says.

one of the cylinders is down to 60

boat shop dude said it'll never run well with that 'dead leg'

had a 140 hp chrysler than had a shot cylinder. Had no hole shot, but once the boat got some speed she kicked in. Probably ran like a 70 horse or so.

What were the other three, BigB? The indication that a cylinder is bad is the difference from the others, not measured psi.

You have two cylinders below the 10% guideline. When compression gets low, the crankcase suction also is affected. With low crankcase suction, you don't draw as much fuel/oil through the carb. This can cause a lean condition and possibly scuff the piston over time. It's time to decide if you want to tear it down and fix it or get a replacement.

Keep running it and it will get worse till something breaks. Then you will have 30psi. You are already heading in that direction.

Headed for a new block quickly. The cylinders will be unserviceable running a piston with partial rings.

ah.... new outboard. Gotcha.

I found a dude localy that has an 81 with power trim/tilt.

and the records from its recent rebuild.

I'll bolt it onto the boat and see what happens

do a decarb on the motor with 60psi and see if it has a stuck ring/ carbon buildup
