That thing's sweet:D Love the pitch on the bow and a bit of rocker to the hull. A true old school starcraft for sure.

The flowers of course can be painted over:)

You positive that boat's a 1940. The logo is a vinyl just like our 60's models.

Okay thanks, as far as Rustoleum Marine Paint, they have topside and boat bottom. My understanding is that boat bottom releases copper to prevent algae buildup and other stuff, although they only have that in two colors, blue and black. I was planning on going with Outside - Semi Gloss White and maybe Inside - Battleship Gray. What are yall's suggestions aas to just using topside for it all since they don't have my intended color for boat bottom?

NB thanks for uploading pics and yes, HA they have already been removed down to bare metal ready for repainting.

Yes have the papers, and I thought it was plastic, if I wasnt carefull it would begin to melt as I was using the heat gun and putty knife removing old paint.

You really dont have to use the marine version..You can use regular Rustoleom..Lots of color choices in that arena

Copper bad for your boat. You will make a battery with that combination.
It will eat the hull in no time. Nice boat. To bad you removed the paint. Just kidding. :p

This boat shows an interesting fore runner of how ours are built. Can you tell us how the seams are held together? I can see rivets on the upper portions but no sign of them on lower hull. The stern shows no rivets unless the paint is hiding them. I have seen stern corner brackets like you have for sale on ebay with the star.

Agree with observation of the shape of the hull. At first I thought canoe inspired but the dory is a better description.

And if you have not painted the exterior you might consider just polishing the aluminum. I am polishing the trim on my Jet and it is gleaming.

Keep us posted with pics. You might look into photobucket to post them. Many of use that service, it is free and fairly intuitive to use.

60 degrees this weekend, going to haul mine out and get back to work in earnest.

Wow that could be the only REAL Tin craft of the bunch When did Starcraft buy there way back out of Brunswick? anyone know. If thats steel best make sure of good flotation under them seats.

Thats a great looking boat. I thought in the picture of the bow the metal looked liked glavanized metal more than aluminum. Probably just me. In any case, that is history in its self. Since its been in the family so long, any chance of older pics of it? Heck, I could use that boat just to help me lose weight by rowing. Dale

It has flotation tanks front and rear.
