Re: 1952 Duracraft Sportsman
I was thinking the same thing.
Casey your Duracraft is looking great, keep up the nice work. Just be glad you are not renovating a big old Chris Craft, some of the prices on that stuff is
Did you ever come up with some J H T shape trim you were looking for?
Yea, I wish the Stang was mine, that would be cool, but it's just a picture I found that is supposed to be the color of my paint.
I can't imagine how long it would take me to renovate a larger boat. I feel for you on the Chris Craft stuff, I've seen the prices and you are correct, WOW. I spruced up my 21ft trophy and that took long enough, really got to wanting it on the water (you know the feeling) I've been at this little 14ft around 8 months and it feels like forever. I've got this thing about wanting everything back like new, but I also know from my personal past experience that if I get it too nice, then I worry and fret over things and don't enjoy it for what it is. Getting complements and showing a perfectly restored item feels good, but in the case of a boat, getting out on the water and using it is way better. So I'm trying to not go too crazy over this little boat so that if I scratch it or bump it I don't have a cow :mad-new: but instead I can enjoy it, while still having a nice finished product.
I still don't know what I'm going to do about the trim piece, I actually did make one and installed it (you can see in the pictures just above the blue dash) but I was not happy with it (more of that being too picky stuff I suppose) and cut it back off yesterday. I'm thinking something out of wood at this point, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to tie it all together.
