Sport? Yup, you bet, I totally get what I deserve. Choir boy? Ah, no, definitely not. Guys, I seriously tried to sing right there, so embarrassing! I'm pretty sure I broke some international law or agreement between our countries right there:facepalm:

Hey Jim, the CAN vs. US rivalry is a strong one and hard to resist. So sorry to derail your build thread here:rolleyes:

OK, back to our regularly scheduled program......

Jas - Way to work through it. Good thing the lyrics are on the internet.

A little lip sync might have been in order.

Ya know, ever since I watched Jason "singing" your anthem, "O Canada" is just coursing through my brain. It's bad enough we flamed out, but this is torture to hear J mutilating the song over and over again.

Congrats, guys! Let's get back to boat building. I've forgotten where you left off, Jim. :D

Hey, congrats on today's Gold! Without a doubt, hockey is still Canada's game, well done!

But, beware, the future generation of US Hockey was in training this afternoon, hungry for revenge!

That there is priceless! Looking forward to seeing them both on the US team in about 15 years!

GA --- gonna do a good ole fashion BOAT update!!! tomorrow! Had the whole family out in the garage in the boat, doin' a full on sit test, what they liked, what they felt needed to be changed.... etc, etc.

So... no pics tonight... but I promise... a good ole "sit-wrap (situation wrap up) tomorrow.

Glad to be back at it...

Have a great Sunday evening fellas....

Jim

dang, this mob is as cannibalistic as a pack o Humboldt squid:
Although Humboldt squid have a reputation of being aggressive, there is some disagreement on this subject. Recent research suggests they are only aggressive while feeding; at other times, they are quite passive. Their behavior while feeding often extends to cannibalism and they have been seen to readily attack injured or vulnerable squid of their own shoal. This behavior may account for a large proportion of their rapid growth

where's my torch? ;)

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Man... you guys really hold a guy to it! :)

Ok... so here is where we are at...

The clamshell broke... once I glued the foamular to it...

This is a layout that we as a family tried out...

But we are not going with this. Once my pea-sized-brain figured out I could just put a hatch in place and lift the 9 gal gas tank out vs sliding it out towards the stern, I realized I can just move the console towards the bow and put a nice back seat in with the same seats the Admiral and I will be using. Kids and the Admiral loved it and thus that is the direction we are going!

Trying out a new version of the clamshell... used a single piece of foamular... thinking of gluing a second one on top to give it more rigidity and/or adding a plywood lip only. It's a tight bend in 2 directions... so a little more experimentation required...

Bow structure is all in place. Everything but the center section will be filled with floatation. It's pretty solid.

So there you have it fella's. A few other items to get prepped and ready and then it's spar time and vinyl ordering time.

O ya... the 50 merc has been completely gone through top to bottom including reed valve replacement, magneto, control box, plugs, prop replaced with a bronze prop etc. Should be all good to go and I'll have it back by early April. Rings, pistons etc look brand new and overall the motor is now in excellent shape! So happy there too!

Take care,

Jim

diggin' the new layout...especially the fact that the entire family has been involved!

the curved console will make a nice backrest...with good lumbar support :)

Nice job Jim, real cool the family is involved in the design. Those "clamshells" are a real tough nut to crack. How about a piece of Masonite the solid version of pegboard, you can pick up part sheets at Home Depot.

Your seating layout makes that little boat seem a lot bigger buddy:thumb:
