I'm sure they are so blessed to have you to help them through scary stuff like this.

jbcurt00- Good thoughts headed you & your's way. Complete & speedy recovery!
Thank-you JB... they are a feeling a little better today!

dozerII - Wow, Jim hope they are okay. As the guys above said hope for a speedy recovery. And you are so right, a person has to dwell on the good things in life, cuz it is just to short to waste your life on the bad stuff.
Thanks Glen! Right on! Gotta enjoy it as best as you can!!!

kfa4303 - Gadzooks!!!! That's scary. I'm glad they'll recover.
Thanks man! Me too... :)

BlueFin16 - Wishin' everyone a speedy recovery Jim! Thank goodness the turnout wasn't worse.

Thanks BF --- Really a testament to modern engineering.... the engine pushed the hood up like that! My Uncle was killed while driving my Dad's TR4(3?) back in the late 60's.... if he had been in a modern car, he would have survived with minor scrapes.

jasoutside - James 4:14 I'm sure they are so blessed to have you to help them through scary stuff like this.

Thanks Jason.... great words right there... thought I'd just quote it here as it is true regardless of your belief system:

"yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes."

ben2go - Glad your parents made it out of that.I hope they recover quick and fully. Oh,and my condolences to them on the loss of their Chevy.

Thanks B2G --- They really enjoyed driving that car! But of course a car can be replaced!

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

I realized through many hours of being in ER last night that our time on earth is to short regardless of whether we live to 100 or 30 --- so the reason is less important than the fact that we find enjoyment in doing it and that we actually do it! You just never know when your time is up... for my folks, they came very close to ending their time on this earth.

It was a real wake up call for me, my family and close friends to embrace every moment, to focus on the moment and to put aside all those silly issues that bug us all and just let them be!

Well said Jim. Good to know your parents are ok!

Looking forward to your build! :)

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Thanks J! They are getting better little by little...

Thought you guys might be interested in this little gadget I got delivered yesterday given that we all up date this site on some kind of computer...

That is a computer! Yup... paid $77 bucks for it delivered to my house.... works fantastic!! Really is the size of a large usb stick. Just plug it into the back of the monitor or tv, plug in the power and connect to your wifi or Ethernet cable. It only has either 8 or 16 gig or internal storage, but I just keep all my files either in the cloud or on a couple of external hdd's... Amazing little computer for the price.

So, I just have my daughter's doll house to prime and paint in the garage and then the falcon re-build begins! Stay tuned... gonna be adding something a little different this time --- not just to the build but how you guys are able to see the build progression.

Take care fellas and have a great Saturday!

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Hey Fella's...

Ok... I have decided to add a new dynamic to this thread and really for me in general. I have decided to create a video series that will have episodes dedicated to each step in a generic way --- meaning that the falcon is necessarily the focus but instead the process.

So I have created a little stand in the garage:

And I have a created a YouTube Channel to host the video's. So here is the first episode... I still have some fiddling to do with the Admiral's camera's as it seams to have 3 modes --- On, Off and Baffle the User! :) Anyway, I hope that you like it! As usual, feedback positive, constructive or otherwise is welcomed!!

Episode 1: The Phlegm Contagion

Please note as of 8:00am Est --- the video will be available at about 12:00pm Est.... :)

Have a great Saturday fella's!

Jim

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

IM goes Hollywood on us and all I get is is bloopers and outtakes. Phlegm Contagion, mmmm - Sounds like an art film. Still gotta wait for 2 1/5 hours for the upload.

It's a good thing you gave a name to your new hi-tech toy. It looks like a new style remote control. :)

Art film.... no way man! Gotta give those that do stand up props... it's harder than it looks to talk in front of a camera ad hoc in one take and not flub the whole thing!!

Half uploaded now.... so Glen it's time to start thinking popcorn again!

JB --- thanks man!

I'll post again when it's done uploading!

PS --- Oh ya... there will be another video up this evening as well.... S03E02! Gotta strip it this evening!

Good video Jim, the work begins in episode 2. Jim can you post up a picture of the container of Safe Strip, I can't find the product out here in the west.

The 261 will be stripped, and well, that boat is huge. And ya, I'm looking for the easiest route possible! I used stripper on the Jet Star and it was a haul so I'm really excited you got good stuff there:pray:

Re: 1960's Falcon Rebuild (New Title)

Thanks guys!

Glen: Here is a close up shot of the product from Natura --- I got it at home hardware... but it should be sold elsewhere I would have thought...

GA --- Not too sure that Admiral would be pleased with that.... but... as they say in Vegas or in the garage...

Jason --- Just for you ---- might want to print this off in full color and hang it in your garage as I know how much you love it ....

Next episode is being uploaded as we speak... just takes a while unfortunately... anyway as always, I hope you guys find it interesting and if nothing else somewhat entertaining!!

Episode 2: Scoop the Goop

The video will be available at about 12:00am Est.... :)

The result of 20 minutes of minor labor (still needs a little touch up here and there --- but really not to shabby):

Have a great evening fella's!

Jim
