I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at. Can you back off a bit so I can get a better perspective. Take a deep Breath... YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Lots of guys on here with NO experience at all and have done GREAT jobs restoring their boats and had much more difficult ones than yours. We'll get your thru it as long as you have the willingness to do the work.

Don't get discouraged. I know it seems like a monumental task, but focus on one thing at a time at it will all come together. From what I have researched these days people are using a closed cell polyurethane pour foam. It comes in different lb densities. If your foam is structural I have heard that a 4lb density is best. If its just for floatation you can get by with 2lb density. I am not quite sure how your deck was floating on top of the foam with nothing to support it to begin with. I would have thought that it rested on top of stringers with the foam in between them but from the pics its kind of hard to tell what I'm looking at. By the way I found a place online that had an 80lb kit of the pour foam for around $260. This would probably be more than enough for your boat and you can get it in any density you want for the same price.

Hey Bsmith,

Cool boat you got there. Plenty of options for what to do underneath the deck. I ripped everything out and then went with a more traditional wood stringer set up. I wouldn't have had to go with that...as you can see from Coolbri's resto. His looks great and he basically redid what was there originally...only better.

a book "runabout renovation" by Jim Anderson was a big help to me on my old glastron. take your time , and hold onto that winshield . that's a nice boat a little polishing compound will do wonders

Hey guys. Sorry for the delayed response. I have been really under the weather this past week and just couldn't get any work done. Thank you all for the advice and words of encouragement. I am positive that with your help I will get this project done right. It's just, as I am sure you have heard before a hundred times before, When I start to get into the unfamiliar, I get a little nervous. Especially when it's something I am trusting to keep family and friends safe when using it.

I am feeling a little better today and the weather is great so I will be headed out to try and finish as much deconstruction as I can. My plan is to have it ready for the new transom by Sunday, so we will see what we accomplish today.

I will post pics of progress later this evening. Thanks again for all the encouragement and advice. You guy are the best!

Well, I haven't done any work on the boat. In my last post I said I was feeling better and had plans to get back at it, however, I wasn't as good as I thought lol. I ended up in the hospital for a while and just got home this morning. Turns out I caught pneumonia, and it hit me pretty hard for a little bit. Now that I'm home and feeling 100% better, I will be getting back to work. I am going to move the boat into the garage this evening after our Memorial Day BBQ because the weather here has just been and is going to continue to be very rainy for a while yet. Thanks to all for hanging around during my little off time, and I promise to get back to providing actual progress posts by tomorrow.
