OK. I got some more informationt to ask from you guys. I went ahead and bought a deep cycle charger for at home so when i am off the lake I can charge. I found this solar power charger at harborfreight. ITs 15 watts trickle charge or regular. If I have it hooked up to the battery while I am riding down the river and parked just listening to music. Do you think this would work to keep the battery topped off. The Amp i thought was 1000 watts is only 500. I just dont want to have to put 2 batteries in this small of a boat. I have included a link to the item. PLEase take a look and let me know what you think.

Check around for an old Evinrude Simplex or Johnson Shipmaster control box with cables...on the auction site or the free Webvertize Ads at www.aomci.org
Shouldn't cost much. May have to buy a control box with cables to get the cable end that you need, maybe not.

get a portable radio, problem solved. You can listen to music with 4 d batteries. Leave the subs and amp in the car.

do you guys have pix of your motors? I have no idea what year my evin 40 is, but it is old! lol... I havent pulled it from the garage (burried by years of crap), to check the #'s, but I got it for free with a new starter and the carb supposedly rebuilt just not installed... I started another thread (in the wrong place) called "old engine," looking for any info or advice... I am into really old engines, but not too familiar with the OB's... I have some really, really old elgins and stuff, a couple really, really old inboards, but I am really uneducated with the OB's, and I want to get it up and running with this little runabout my neighbor gave me!

Thanks guys!
