Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

Thanks LL, the ride is smooth, the cameraman, not so much :D

Thanks Broadcast, I tried calling for ages, your always fishing...Damn:( I wanna be like you... Oh yeah, the woohoo was there, just kept it in, there's enough folks who already think I talk to myself, no sense in proving it{lol}...hope to see you out there sometime myself...bout time we start making plans for a Michigan, tri-state area Starmada get together for next year{give a few some time to finish up}...I can almost taste the smoked fish/fresh walleye & cold pops going down now :D

Thanks Kev, not often us minor league "wannabee's" get called up...that bench is all yours again, I appreciate the support....and i left some steroids taped underneath the home plate end of the bench, just incase ;):D
ps:, I'll go with 48.4{gps when I find one to take with me}..though I will say it's been way too long since I last captained a ship, and it sure felt like 98.7Mph :D

WOOHOOOOOOthat was for Broadcast and all you fine folks who have suffered thru this with me.

Nice job. Boat looks great, looks like it gets up and goes real good too. It would be great to see that one of a kind trolling motor in action.

I feel another resto coming on! Is it too early to start looking for a bargain tinnie to love?

I thought about giving you the $50.00 just for a ride.:D

Best of luck to you in the sale.:)

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

Awww I've been away with a new job and other stuff in my life taking my time away from this forum. I come back, return to my favorite threads and see your triumph of the splashdown and the the craigslist posting all at once.

Congrats and condolences together, Kenny.

I'm sorely temped to buy your boat. This would involve some negotiation with the wife. Funny how those things work-- if she wants a kitchen remodel that costs twice what you're asking for your sweet Starcraft restoration. . . of course she gets it. But it doesn't always work the other way

I imagine you'll sell that sweet resto quick. All that work you did on that boat plus your well done CL ad should do the trick. You sold your last resto for what...$1200 without a motor?

If I did buy it, you would have an open invitaiton to go fishing.

And as mentioned, I see a new resto in your future

HSF,
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. That really stinks, but I understand the way life turns on us sometimes. I have enjoyed you thread, the encouragement and the friendship. I'm sure you will bounce back and restore another one in the future..
Good luck my friend

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

It's all good Kenny...CBK paid you up on Starcraft dues thru 2015 so no worries on your membership status;)

The listing is a good one and I'm sure it will go to a proud new owner soon. There are no other rigs like yours on the water with all the nice custom trim and whatnot.

I predict an out-of-state buyer.:)

Sorry to hear it. I almost had to sell the Jupiter a couple years ago mainly due to a "carpocalypse" at our house that left us with 3 undrivable vehicles each for one reason or another. Ended up trading in 2 vehicles on one better one (got raped) but got through it. Things will turn around.

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

Look at all the money you SAVED on therapy while rebuilding her...:D

This will pass, I am sure your well documented restore will go to a loving owner.

It's just stuff..honestly if I HAD to dump my Holiday I would in a heartbeat, it really isn't the boat that I am infatuated with, but rather it is the vessel that brought me here amongst you chuckleheads, and THAT is worth more than any SC out there..

well....maybe not worth as much as a 22ft SS...;)

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

Thanks again guys, your not rid of me yet{lol} I'm still a boater, I'll just be in between rides. Really been putting myself thru the ringer these last couple of day's...If I can get close to what I'm asking, I'll let her go, if not I'll probably do what I'd rather not, and pull some of my 401 out to get somewhat comfortable again...but I really hate thinking about that, being as I am getting up there age wise.

Believe me if she goes, I'll be keeping an eye out for another project, I started almost 2 yrs ago with the Imperial as a means of keeping me busy, and now that I've found this tinnie family...well, nuff said. Who know's, maybe a miracle will happen and I'll see some of my money again{Ha!}

I can't find the words to express my thanks for your support now and thru my adventures here...let's hope I priced it high enough it won't sell :rolleyes:

Hopefully my sense of humor will get back to normal{lol} soon.

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

you priced it too low, in my opinion..I would have started at 5500 with a OBO deal....
Honestly..If I had 3500 disposable..it'd be yours..and you can store the boat for me, run it for me, just send me a shaky vid now and then..

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

Very sorry to hear the gut wrenching news Kenny. I have to ask..are you nuts? $3500 for that gem is just not right. It is a brand new boat for goodness sakes, ask $5500. and negotiate if need be. Where can anyone find a new boat for 35 hundred?
Besides, that will give you 2k to start the new resto;)
Keep the faith brother.
