Where the interior fiberglass isn't painted and there's a chip in my boat's outside gelcoat I see light too. It's normal to my understanding (which has been proven wrong more than once)

Ok I was wondering because I didn't want to be putting stringers on if I needed to reinforce it.

Guess I'm going to copy the stringer layout from the Bahama. I was only gonna put 4 back in but thinking I need 6

Welll I'm back...I phone was stolen lost all email and passwords...hence the new username. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to attach stringers to bulkheads. I know somebody suggested dado cutting but is there another way? Like L brackets or something? Do both bulkheads and stringers need to remain in one piece?

From what I've seen the stringers are typically solid front to back beded in peanut butter ( fiberglass resin and micro bubbles ) or construction adhesive ( have to wair for it to off gass before sealing with fiberglass ). Then the bulkheads are set in place and butted up against the stringers. Then fiberglassed in place. I think you could tack them in place with screws or nails. I don't think you need additional bracing from L brackets or dados.

You can have a mod help you get your nick back with a PW reset or something like that. Not a glass guy so.

That's what I was thinking. So stringers solid front to back and the bulkheads pieced in. Thank you oh and thanks for the perfect reset watermann

Problem solved. Will be picking up some sonatubes from Home Depot and cutting in half. Will tac the edge here an there with adhesive just to hold in place then glass them in

Two more stringers left to finish fabricating and I'll be ready to set them in pb in day or so

Well after a long winter I'm back... can I get some input on stringers. Already received input from one about just using 4 stringers...thoughts on if this will support the hull ok? As most of you know from the pictures it's really hard to figure out what stringer system is used. (Page 3 are pics I believe) I can't tell if it's three stringers in center and two done on each side or not. Either way I've decided to do away with dome stringers and just do normal...question is how many...

Mine has 4 stringers. It is a brick now. Hit the deck with a hammer and it sounds like you hit a 100 foot oak tree.

Just pick a similar boat and a stringer system you like and want to use.

There is no hard fast rules. I have seen 3 boats like mine with 3 completely different stringer systems in them. Like mine meaning four winns horizon boats in a 3 year range.
