This is how thick the inside transom skin was, just a few sheets of paper thick

And this is how it sits as of right now.

Will probably be a while now before I can get the new transom built and put in due to lifes unfortunate bad timing. Plenty of other things to due, just not the mot important. LOL Keep an eye out for updates.

Re: 1964 Alpex Bali Rebuild

So I have been going over a lot of things lately, what needs done, things I need to buy and things I want to do. And here I am again with a couple questions.
#1, with the boat/motor being as old as it is, it was installed with a dummy light that would light up when the engine would get hot, (dont even know that it worked). Can I by-pass the dummy light and go with a modern temp gauge?
#2, the motor came with the usual 6 gallon metal outboard tanks with the hose with the primer bulb in line. I plan on installing a 15 gallon above deck permanent tank. Can I get away with running a fuel pump rather than the line with the in line primer?
Let me know your ideas

You will probably get quicker & better advice if you start a motor thread in the correct motor forum group.

When you do, post as much info as you've got about the motor:

2012 Johnson 90hp, remote start, model #12345, serial #987654

I did scan back & see 1pix of a 90hp Evinrude, but didn't see a model #
