Re: Carpenter ants in the transom
Re: Carpenter ants in the transom
i was just trying to post some info on carpenter ants. most people think CA eat wood they don't.
i am a certified pest control operater in florida(one of the toughest states to get cert.)
i have seen CA nest inside towel racks in bathrooms as well as voids in concrete. carpenter ants are more active at night so baits are not too effective.
i suggested a non-repellant insectice that you can spray on a few that are foraging and will take it back to the nest and than transfer to the nest mates like the flu in humans.
another less exspansive insecticide in an areosol can is phantom. if you have an old lesco(john deere landscapes) try them or any DIY pest control store
just a FYI

Hello JS..
And your point is .. ?
"The damage to wood structures is variable. The longer a colony is present in a structure, the greater the damage that can be done. If structural wood is weakened, carpenter ant damage can be severe."
That is off the same site m8..
YD.
PS. I still stand with my post above ..
