Re: 1967 IMP Aztec -- Resto Underway again Suggestions please
ok it's official I am begging now......... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?????!!!!???!?!?!?!?
questions i have are:
1. lowest temp that i can glass in and still have the resin setup and hold properly?
2. will mixing it hotter help out at all or cause more issues?
3. When placing the motor mount stringers in place do i need to know where the X dimension is first since the crankshaft center line is what appears to be the measurement used in the install for the motor mounts height and distance off the transom.
All right, I'll play nice...
I can't help you with one and two, sorry man. I'll say with epoxy at least, the warmer the better. But, that is of no value to you.
As for #3, everything goes off of the X Dimension. I haven't finished the process yet, but here is my take (quick and dirty)...
1. Get the X Dimension
2. Cut the keyhole
3. Install the Transom Shield/Gimbal Housing
4. Hang the engine off the rear mounts
5. Run your alignment bar till perfect
6. Build the front motor mounts up to where they need to be.
I don't think there is any other way to do it.
You'd be shootin from the hip on those motor mounts otherwise.
Hope that helps man.
Cheers!
