Nope since the forum is Database driven don't think you can, but... An Administrator Like Tonees Might be able to do it but with all the issues they're having right now, I doubt they'd be to accomadating:eek:

does anyone know of a way to save an entire thread for offline viewing?

The only way I can think of would be very time consuming and labor intensive, but short of someone who knows how to do it, the way I would go about it is to copy and paste the thread, page by page onto your desktop notepad...
Like I said, that would be the caveman way to do it, and that's about as far as my computer knowledge goes, prehistoric...

I was thinking this might just be the best way. Maybe copy and past each page into LibreOffice Writer (like MS Word) only opensource :)

Nice splash #2 ! When you rounded the bend and hit the real glassy water it sounded like ya went wot for a bit then pulled back .. Any guestimate on your speed ?

Good ear SP. I did as I wanted to see what the max rpm was I would get. Right about 3600. I had the oem prop size from the factory on it (13.5x15).
I do have a 12.5x13 I am going to try next. I also am going to do a compression check as when I bought the motor, the guy said that the compression was a little low. That's why that motor came with a complete and running parts motor :) Gotta like that ;)

No guess on the speed. I have since downloaded an app to my phone which should hopefully tell me approximately.

I have the results of the compression test which I am going to post over on my motor thread too.

Top and bottom cylinder held for a 15 second count time before I released the pressure.
I did this 4 times on each cylinder and came back with:
Top: 170
Bottom: 140
The 170 seems high but need to do some research on what the compression typically is on this motor.

Whoa...170psi R U sure?? Thats off the chart!!!! 140 would be like NEW!!! Are you removing all the plugs and then checking each cylinder one at a time?

That's that I said too!

Someone else had suggested trying a different compression gauge and try it again which is what I am going to do.

I just about fell over as I did it 4 times on each cylinder.

Before doing the compression test...you might want to run the engine for a few minutes, let it warm up, shut off the fuel flow until the engine sputters and dies, then turn it over a few times to clear the combustion chambers of any remaining fuel/oil...then run the compression test...170 psi does sound kind of high...

Got another gauge and tested again.
Top: 140
Bottom: 110

The guy I go the motor from said that one of the cylinders was weak so that is why he got the other motor.

Those aren't the greatest #'s, but sometimes you have to run it for a while and let everything settle out...
Don't give up on it yet...remember that compression testing is very relative to several conditions...and in some circles, 20% variance between cylinders is perfectly acceptable...
Keep running some premium gas in it and if I might recommend, mixed with some synthetic 2 stroke oil, like Amsoil in it...you might begin to see and feel a difference after a few hours of run time...
Hoping for the best, good luck...

For those following my thread, here is the latest. The 50hp Johnson needs a rebuild (this winter), I picked up a 30hp to get through the rest of the season. You can find my motor thread here.

Sorry about the motor. But I know you will make it better. The only good thing about winter is that it gives us time to build, or break, stuff.

Just picked up a 17' v hull glassmaster, decked bow. Has a lot of floor and transom damage as well as wood rot. I have enjoyed reading the posts up to this point and may have some specific questions later. Is there a location on the boat where I might find the model number or name? I will finish removing the hardware this weekend and will post some pictures. I'll appreciate all the guidance I can get on this project in the months to come.
