Very cool looking setup. I really like the the "big boat" trans shifter/gas peddle......Sweet !

Little boat with big handles. Gotta make it look big as I can.

To bad they don't light up but man they still look just freaking awesome dude. You are just doing one heck of a job on that rebuild bud.

Hmmmm, thats an Idea. Maybe I can drill a hole and installa lighted switch .

That dash looks totally awesome! Great work azlo.

Thanks man, now im more ancious to splash. Now I just got to make sure all electrical works & get the outdrive working & then we splash.

Aright, I didnt post pics last night because I wanted to install the switches. I believe in first impressions but as always I had problems. But this is how far I got. I still need to install 4 more switches but could not installed them because the threaded area was not long enough. the one u see have been forced. So now I have to look for longer switches.

Nice switches... Could you not take a spade bit to the back of the dash to counter sink the holes so you have more threads showing in the front? Regardless nice project so far an your doing the starmada proud.

Yeah you right, im gonna take the mini grinder and hit it. I did notice that the switches have a last nut, 2 in all. Im gonna take it off and see if that helps.

I was looking on that site Azlo and finally found this http://www.iowa80.com/DirectionsWEB/webcart_search.php?catid=TOGGLEEXTS

Well carp, I thought that it would bring up the LED extensions. Just type LED in the search and then on the left there is a line that says LED switch extension.

Lets see if this works. http://www.iowa80.com/DirectionsWEB...c=Freightliner+Toggle+Extension+with+Blue+LED[/QUOTE

YIKES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spendy lilttle buggars

hehe. yes thinking out the box, I like that. I dont know why Teamster, but I keep having thoughts of having a machine gun (50 cal M2) on top of the bow, you know. I think that would be neat. Yeah I know " keep dreaming", I dont know maybe its the Mad Max in me.

Truly a work of art Azlo. Very impressive indeed.:D Are you really going to allow fish in the boat? They would stink and slime the beauty up!
You could always charge people just to go for a cruise in her.
Oh, and I thought you said we could learn from your mistakes...wel..where did the mistakes go?:p
And a blue LED rope light under the dash would work well too, kinda like CBK's.

Just kidding fshngho. Yeah were gonna catch fish in style. Sorry man, im just hyped in my own world. But coming back to earth, mistakes & bloopers I have. Like the time I was cleaning the bolt in the bench grinder and it flew off, hit the wall and then my forehead. I mean u name it has happened to me. But I just dont mention it for fear of ridicule. Kind of like when some one farts in a room and you looking around to give the impression that it wasnt you. You know what I mean. Well same here. I just dont post those events. You know I should post them in the end of my splash video.

Re: 1968 Holiday Restoration w/pics

I been doing a lot of electrical fellas, and I really dont have any pics. crimping a lot of terminals and stuff. But I have decided to have a switch for bank2 battery (Aux). SO I got a golf cart solenoid.

MAH009932.jpg

Now I have heard how hot this things get. So I decided to try it out for the whole day, 6 hours straight.

MAH009931.jpg

Man this thing gets hot!. Not extremely hot but enough where u cant hold it. But voltage started at 12.56 volts & at the end it was 12.43 volts. Not bad at all. I know there was no load except for field, but i wanted to know how much it would be spent on actuating the solenoid. At the same time I went ahead and got a 100amp "latching" relay. No need for continued source of power to keep it activated so it doesnt get hot and it doesnt spend any power. But I need a resistor wich I will get later. Will let u guys know how this other relay works. All input & ideas welcomed.

PS,,,Man it would be nice to be boating right now. Anyways,,,, you guys have a great and safe memorial weekend.

If this is to bring the second battery on line, why not use one of the commercially available switches?
