After taking a nap I loosened the exhaust tube & vooalah, I was able to set it & tighten it. I Put the pin screws & there it is.

Its at this time that I realise this is the first mechanical component I have finished on my boat.

This gimbal rebuilding was not easy as some things were in this project. There are things I would of done diffrent but this will do for now. I hope im not forgeting anything.

On a side note I have come to discover some sort of patience, maybe its the age, but at the same time frustration does overwhelm me at times and thats when the mistakes happen.

I guess we all have things that we would like overcome. But I have learned that if u make your task simple, its easier to keep patience that may have grown through out the years.

Well im just glad I can cross this off my list!!. Good night.

That patients is called maturity brother Azlo...
When you can tackle a problem like these old boats without throwing a wrench across the garage and having your veins pop outta your neck...
Then you have entered into that Zen state of sit..sip...think...nap...work..

Kudos bro

AZLO,

Dont let those Northern folk rattle your cage. They're just grumpy because they dont have the weather we do.

Great progress Az. Gonna look pimp on the water. You'll have her there in no time. When you come up with a name you can have any local sign shop run vinyl (or sticker as you put it) to put on the transom. If you need any help installing the vinyl just let me know. I have plenty of experience with it. ;)

Can't really say why Azlo, but for some reason the "Kilroy was here" eyes painted on the round section jumps at me. The eyes would follow as you turn. Great job on the mechanics and paint. You have a good reason to be proud.
