Nice Lights...
But you really need a prop...I think?!?!...:facepalm:...just sayin...

BTW, If you decide on a plexiglas windshield, use lexan instead...not only is it more expensive, but it is bullet proof...and never use any thing more than a soft cotton cloth with a very mild detergent to clean it, or it will scratch...you can also have it custom bent to almost whatever shape you want, if you want a curved windshield...

my .005...:D
GT1M

Lookin great. Dont forget the sacrificial anode on the outdrive.

LOL, aaahhh yeah, I think a new prop is in order. That prop is just there to protect the splines. Im actually looking into a stainless but dont know what pitch yet. Might have to get an adjustable prop first to see whats best for me. Yeah but dont worry fellas, the prop will get changed along with some anodes. :D

Wouldn't it be funny if someone did all that work and left the old prop. They'd say something like "I'm leaving it 'cause it has character"

Let us know what you pick for a prop as I may do the same thing. There is a prop exchange program here where you can try various props to get exactly what you are looking for after verifying jump out of the hole or top end.

As a rookie boat owner, I'll be using my dog eared prop for a good portion of its 1st season. Maybe deep into its 2nd.....

It may have character and save a few bones, but an unbalanced prop is going to put a lot of unnecessary stress on the bearings and seals on any motor (edit - Lower unit / outdrive). Which will cost a lot more than replacing a prop or getting it repaired.

Cost me $30 to get mine cleaned up, but it wasn't even close to what Alzo's looks like.

Hmmm, can we check it for balance in a partially stocked garage? Mine isn't sauger toothed badly, just not a perfect prop.

Balance, hmmm may need to revisit that. Thanks 64

Lookin good Azlo. Be sure to post up the launch date. I'll certainly try to make out out there to watch and assist if needed. The recent rain has really helped our lakes. We finally have enough water in Lavon that the ramps are usable again. I believe Hubbard is at full pool now will be no problem at all.

Last year I made a windshield for a buddies boat. I actually have 2 left to do. One for another friend and one for my Ambassador. If you decide to go the plastic route do the research. There are pros and cons to both. Personally I went with acrylic. While bullet proof, polycarbonate is soft and scratches like crazy. There is a reason car headlights are acrylic and not polycarbonate.

I know this is a completely different type of windshield but here is the one I made for my buddies boat.

Basically I cut it on a router table at work and then used one of those radiant propane disk heaters that clamp on to propane bottle to heat and bend it.

You can read more about it here if you want. The info on how I made it actually starts about page 9.

:p:D
