Re: 1971 16' ss
"Coat it" is another brands version of "Gluvit". I was able to get it locally and many of the local drift boat guys prefer it to Gluvit to coat the bottom of their boats.
The back piece of flooring can be riveted down tomorrow (yeah...first piece). I spent a while cutting up noodles and pink hardboard foam tonight.
Working without a template on the floor piece is a big pain. I must've taken that piece in and out of the boat at least 10-15 times.
In the event that anyone thinks they are going to score a new cool tool from HF...don't. I purchased the new 5" Double Cut Saw Item # 68316 , thinking it would make cutting the .125" aluminum tread plate quicker, easier, and have a better edge than my other tools. So we broke down and picked one up. The VERY first cut the "twin" counter rotating blades separated...making two individual cuts. (thus defeating it's purpose) It thankfully was before I got into the actual piece that needed to be cut. Needless to say it's going to be returned.
After trying several other methods of cutting it, with mixed outcomes...it was back to the trusty 4.5" grinder for cutting out all of that.
What is "Coat It" I havent heard of it until now?
Good thinking![]()
