The motor has not ran in a few years. when I got it home I put gas and a battery in it. It fired right up sounded good idled good water pumping good. After I shut it down I noticed this oil smells like gas just wondering if it is normal
That is premix gas and oil mixed with carbon running out of the exhaust. Very normal for a motor that hasn't run in a long time. I hope you fogged the motor good before running with dry bearings and cylinder walls.
Did not fog motor po said that it was professionally winterized three years ago. And we sprayed wd in cylinders and cranked it over before the compression test. Po guaranteed the motor as my tester had a leak and couldn't get an accurate test, but seemed to all be good.
Have donor completely striped. Having trouble getting rid of it . Transfer station won't take it unless it is cut up. So I give that a try what a itchy mess. Anyone have any ideas?
