I finished tearing the old transom out. There is still a thin layer of ply on there but it should grind out easily. I didn't want to risk damaging the skin by trying to get it off. Even with all the ply out the transom hardly moves at all, the skin is really thick. I still need to check for straightness but it looks really good so far.
I still have a huge mess to clean up. The garbage man comes tomorrow so I better get back to work!!
