About 7 years ago I purchased a bright yellow Winner Wildcat for $1000
on the side of the road near my house. It came with a bimini, snap on cover, and a blown 400 engine. It was in rough shape but you could tell it had unlimited potential, What I really fell in love with was the lines of the boat, it just screamed "muscle boat" to me. Anyways, after many years of fixing it up as money permitted, and alot of love and care it's grown to be a part of the family in itself. From what I understand wildcats in '72 came with a ford plant i'm guessing a 302? the boat still has it's original mercruiser triple 8 stern drive, but we dropped a gm performance 350 small block in it, with some aftermarket performance parts the engine makes about 315 hp now, she's quite fast on a good day I clocked her at 68 and with the right prop and some tuning I'm confident she'll flirt with 70 - 75 mph. I do have some questions tho, Is there anyone who can give me more information on this boat? I plan on doing a complete restoration to the boat to make it as original as possible but the information just isn't there to do so.. any info at all about 1972 wildcats would be incredibly helpful, seating arrangements, color options, accessories, standard options etc. thanks in advance, - matt

I am a wildcat owner too.

Sweet boat!

Where did you get that tower? and is there anything that I need to know in order to get one for my wildcat?
