Re: new to me..
Re: new to me..
Does anyone know WHERE I can get replacement rub rail. I am missing about a 4ft piece.
Yes the boat has been in salt water. Vancouver Island, is a 300 mile long island in the Pacific Ocean
PO bought the boat as a project. But after a year of it sitting in the garage, and work on it was slow going. The Wife told him he had to get rid of "one" of his projects.
PO completely redid the floor, and replaced any loose rivets. Windshield does have a crack in it, but I can get a "pressed" out form of the old windshield for less then $200.
The old transom was removed (yes I have the caps), I have the old transom (wood) for my template for the new transom. When I have more time I will epoxy the two 3/4in pieces of plywood together and reassemble the boat.
Here is the crack in the windshield.

he meant, may your stay in the DRYdock be brief, we hope you hang around here for quite a while.
that is a really ripe-for-resto example of one of the coolest SCs....i allus thought of it as their sports car, albeit made from the same basic stuff as our more mundane ones. think Jag "E" Type.....
what are you planning on doing with the hashed rub rail?

I have a feeling the old gal wasn't tied up properly at the dock. Looks like the transom has been pulled or getting ready to be pulled, judging by the turned up corners. Hope you have the caps. Was she used in salt?
Novas have nice lines. I think it's got something to do with the windshield. They look speedy, even standing still.
And since we can see her now, welcome to the Tin Drydock. May your stay be brief, the water beckons.![]()

Man that rub rail took a beating also. Did the po give you any idea what caused all that. Interesting boat though, I' ll be following along with ya

be glad that whatever ate the rear SB corner & rub rail (dock) couldn't reach that windshield!!
did you get details on how the PO restored the floor and what's underneath?
It will be a really nice project...sweet find!!
