Re: 1973 Chrysler Fin & Fun Rebuild
Hey guys it has been quite a while since i have had a chance to get an update on here.
Since last time
I posted, finally determined my issue was all because of some old MEKP.
As of yesterday, I have bought 5 more gallons of resin(brings me up to 15)
Over the last few months i fished glassing my stringers and tabbed in the rest of my transom.
I also cut and glassed my bulk heads which were surprisingly harder than expected as you can see in this picture, i left a whole on each side of my hull for water to drain to the bilge .when the boat was made, this area in between the 2 stringers had no foam in them, so i plan to leave it empty for drainage.
I also cut the deck out. and I was able to make do with only 2 sheets of PLY !!!! thanks to some new found dry wall skills i was able to "piece together " part of the deck I decided that whis would be fine because it lands on bulk heads and it is just for storage under the seats.
as most of you probably remember i had the plan to glue pink foam together for my flotation and after much conversation with you all, you suggested me using pink foam to just take up space so i can use less pour in foam.
so after i glassed the bottom of the deck, i cut 6 inch strips of pink foam and glued it too the bottom side of the deck(only on the outside of the stringers). just to take up just enough room so i will have enough pour in foam. (i bought the 8 cubic ft of 2 lb foam from us composites.)
here is a picture of the deck as i was putting it down yesterday.
