I checked into the SIP panels when I built my house .. I ended up using the ICF foam blocks with the 4" poured in concrete instead ... But from what I've heard the SIP panels are good also ..
If I ever get to build my own house, I'll be picking your brain. My friend used the blocks and he said he wished he'd have thought about having a bright flashlight that would let him see down inside the cavity during the poor.
Here is a video of the recent work I have finished.
Does anyone know why this tube is here? It extends from up under the bow to 2/3rds of the way ender the fuel tank. It appears to be about 4 inches in diameter. The forward end looks like it has a 1 inch hole where foam may have been injected and the aft end is plugged.
Filling the S'ban up with foam and rubbish.
More rubbish.
Giving the potting soil back to the landfill.
Engine bay.
Main cabin.
I kept that one piece of foam to use as a step and a seat. The boat is a little harder to get in and out of with the floor removed.
I've been using the rains from the last couple days to clean out the boat. each rainfall I scrub the belly with soap and vacuum it out. A few more times and I should have the grease and oil out of the fiberglass. I don't want to start grinding until I'm reasonable sure the surface is cleaned followed by a good acetone and towel wash has taken place.
