1975 25 hp throttle

Old evinrude resurrection has gone well. One quirk however. When advancing the throttle, if you go to far, the roller can fall off the other side of the ramp( ?timer base?). What to inspect/ repair to prevent this?

Maybe the throttle control cam is broken or dislodged. Some of them clamp into place, some held with screws (think yours is the latter). (#37 in the diagram: http://ww2.iboats.com/Magneto/dm/cart_id.159547071--session_id.901350655--view_id.1547320 )

Lessee, If I'm thinking correctly, the magneto armature plate rotation is limited by going up against the vertical shifter interlock bar. So, question becomes, is the shifter interlock bar installed and working properly?
