Took the boat out this last weekend and had a blast on the lake but ran into a couple of problems. For some reason the bilge wasn't pumpiing out the water that accumulated from getting in and out of the boat while tubing. Bought a new one and shortened the tubign and the new one seems to work fine. Also because the boat took on quite a bit of water meaning the bilge was full and that means the tanks under the boat floor where full also cause I have two holes on the sides inside the bilge that go into tanks under the boat floor.
So the boat stalled out a couple of times while taking off wakeboarding. I assume this is because the carbs need to be cleaned and the added weight filed up the carb bowls and flooded them. So I am going to clean them out and buy the carb kit. Also the bottom cylinder coil has a hair line crack in it, I was just wondering if that may have had something to do with the stalling also. I have already ordered a igniton coil just waiting for it to be delivered. Can I still take the boat out or am I asking for trouble and a paddle trip home?

it is going bad, if it isn't already. they heat up and fail. when ever you have excess water in the boat, and pump is not working, or you don't have a pump. if you can get to your drain plug from inside the boat, you start moving slowly, and have someone pull the drain plug, then speed up. all the water will drain, the replace the plug, before coming to a stop. that is how we did it before the age of bilge pumps.

i have seen coils run a long time with a crack put cylacon in the crack to seal it up . you will onley loose that cylinder . you can still go on the other 2 . i have a 1974 70 hp it had a coil that would heat up and quit after running a 1/2 mile . still idled in . you don`t need to run verry far on a lost cylinder . this motor had this probablem when i got it . the crank lobe was worn on one side fro it . had to replace it .

How will I know if i loose a cylinder? Besides a lack of power, will the motor run at lower RPM's or lower motor exhaust noise? Will silicone help anything besides make it so water can't get in?
