Re: 1975 Glastron CVX 16

Well, I thought I would update this thread
It has been raining so much here that I only had limited time to work on the ole girl. I even thought about giving up this project because of the rain, and when I finally got some time to work on her, I could only do limited amount of work, because something else more important would pop up that I needed to take care of...DARN!

With that being said, I am not sure that I will keep moving forward at this point. The cost of the repairs, and being on a limited budget interferes with my rational thinking, that I may not be able to save this boat....wish I had limited funds, and a dry place to work on her..

Well, I am still thinking these thoughts, however i have managed to do a few thing to the cv that needed to be done reguardless, and I just wanted to update you folk on what I have done, and what I am planing to do next if I keep her

I have met some nice folks over on another form, they have been a huge help, and one member helped me out with some materials that he had left over from his restore project. I am vary grateful and amazed of all the stuff he gave me to use on this project, thank you!, so maybe that was a sign for me to move forward with this project, confused, I am lol

If do keep moving forward with this project, it will not be a "Restore To Original Condition" it will be sort of a "Rat Rod" kinda project with my own ideas, combined with other ideas, and input from other members, thanks in advanced!

I have managed to do a few things to the ole girl
have rebuilt the trailer, which includes all new
1) 72.5" HF 2k Axle 2000lb dexter axle with the E-Z Lube system
(2) Bolt On Front Spring Hanger
(2) Bolt On Rear Spring Hanger
(2) 25" 4 Leaf Springs
(2) 1/16 5 Lug Galv Hubs

I also removed all the rotted transom wood, removed the splash well, cut new transom wood, laminated new transom woods, among other things. I am wondering what to do with this crappy dash. I feel so overwhelmed at times..I would like a sporty looking dash with some race looking gauges if possible, not sure how to fiberglass over what i have, and make something out of what I have to work with
hear are some pics of some things I have done thus far
these pics are not order, sorry

Buck, please tell me you've only used the OSB as a pattern NOT as the plywood transom.

Gosh No! lol... the 3rd and 4th pic show the transom wood that i will be using for the new transom " Birch" and it will be sealed completely before I install it, however I decided to just install a 4 foot transom, not a full with transom like the original was. I hope this will work?

I'd have put back the same width transom as came out.

I should have, however at this point I have to use what i got, with extra bracing, if I decide to install the new transom
