i removed riser elbow from manifold ans there is a 3" tall stainless pipe installed inside of elbow is this normal? looks like it was diverting or restricting water flow out exhaust elbow into rubber tube, cause i haven't seen one offered with new riser as part of replacement, thanks

1975 gm inline 6- 250ci -tried attaching pic site says too big- if you lay riser upside down so both square and round ports face up then press in a piece of stainless tube 3" tall roughly 2 1/2 round thats what i found will gladly send pics to email if you can post thanks chris

where does that rubber tube lead to coming out of the extra ss tube... i've never seen the likes. i will speculate that you have the reverse flow set up for your cooling system though.
is this a raw (from the lake) or fresh (has heat exchanger w/ coolant)water set up? this is interesting......

oh, good job on the photobucket... i see yer pic good...

i recently bought a half water/half antifreeze for my inline six off ebay made by mercruiser it had the same elbow riser. guy didnt send me all of the thermostat hsg etc so i just used the manifold with new riser without stainless tube[kept it sea water cooled]
