Sorry to hear the weather didn't cooperate... What part of NE fla. were you lookin at? Ocala is still a fairly nice area, very rural and still quite open...plenty of freshwater fishin spots up around those parts...

That merc 700 is real nice lookin...the boat has a nice line to it, very classic...if the engine's in good shape, and the trailer is ready to go, plus the hull itself is already partially gutted...gee, I don't know that much 'bout old boats , but it seems like a pretty decent deal...

I agree w/ GT: engine in good order, and no big red flags @ hull damage, seems to be mostly intact for trim, hardware, & windshield, good trailer & tires, I'd offer less but would probably be prepared to go to $500 maybe asking if its as good as it looks, esp if motor fires & all checks good, asking.

Based on today, I would be looking for the pole barn & 5acres + the mule.

Good day Sir!

I finally had some time to check out this build... I'm up to 27 builds I'm trying to keep up with so I'm sorry I've not stopped by earlier..
Looks like your doing a great job... I dig the blue hull! I see your checking out yet another boat! I have MBS as well! And also dream of a pole barn and 5 acres! Speaking of MBS, now I need to check out the Aztek build!

Have a good weekend Brutha!

Is the new compressor working OK? The weather has been nice lately. I'm sure we'll get at least one more cold snap.

Hey GA, the compressor has bad rings on it so oil is shooting out of it like a gyser. got a new compressor pump for the cost of the ring kit so we will see how well it does. Trying to put it all back together now and see how well it will work. it looks rough right now but the wife is going to paint it cuz she thinks its ugly. i kinda like it.

So i got the stringers cleaned up and re-installed as you will be able to see under the wood for the sole......

also, for the transom, cleaned, wire brushed and painted the inside of the transom after some self etching primer to hellp prevent future decay, also visible in the below pics.

Got the wood cut out for the sole. the old sole was to rotted and cut like a drunk monkey did was running the saw so i could not use them as a pattern, but i do believe it turned out pretty decent despite that.

Old wood for the sole without any protection

shot of the new wood. Increased the thickness from 1/2" to 3/4", much better feeling when walking on it i must say

A few shots with the sole laid out. at the very bow i am installing a stop and down both sides as well so that nothing will fall off the sides and under the sole. this area will be under the bow cover as storage anyway.

it is all just roughed in. still had to cut out the scallops for the bow piece a little better

Re: 1975 Starcraft 140 Evinrude OB -- Restoration IN PROGRESS FINALLY

now for the part that i know everyone waits for............

two coats of epoxy on each side, and while i was at it i gave every edge a coat every time i any surface so the edges ended up with 5 coats since it has a chance to take more rubbing from the edges.

100_0172.jpg

And since we all love to watch paint dry, i used porch and floor paint for the underside and edges, 2 coats for some extra added protection

100_0173.jpg

100_0174.jpg

I am waiting to put the paint on the topside until it is mounted in place.

And now through the magic of Iboats time lapse photography..........

TA DA

This one show the transom in place waiting for me to get to the back plate so i can bolt it in place.

I used stainless screws with 5200 to help seal the holes as well. The very bow piece is waiting for me to fab the sides and get them coated and installed.
