Metal fuel tank? Connector on tank itself can leak air when the o-ring behind the little metal pin(fuel side) doesn’t seal..

Pulled the fuel pump for the 3rd time. Rebuilt it 100% correctly. No Luck! Motor dies between 2 - 3 min every time. Sucks because is starts with one pull and runs beautifully. Any other suggestions out there???

if it worked with gravity feed ! the pump is not doing its job cyl comp. does not concern the fuel pump it runs on crankcase pressure build up when the piston downstrokes. Do the flow test suggested above fill the bowl.... pull the carb inlet hose..... and run 2-3 minutes ... measure fuel volume pumped out report quantity produced by the test

if not a pump issue cc pulsing may be weak due to a crankcase sealing problem ...if reeds are ok a volume flow test will confirm.

or check with a vacum -pressure meter on the pulse port

No gas was coming out of the hose from pump to carb. Yeah... I think this is getting above my pay grade? I am just going to assume I rebuilt the fuel pump wrong ( 3 times???) or it is defective in some way. I am going to bite the bullet and purchase a way overpriced OEM Fuel Pump and pray like heck that solves the problem. If not she goes up for sale or I will take it to a pro ( not likely).

Here is one of the Videos on YouTube showing a Pump like yours, maybe you've seen it, but it does point out a couple of tricky spots that could cause problems

Did you ever inspect the reeds? A broken, cracked and bent leaf can allow crankcase pressure to escape through the carb throat.
A quick test would be to fill the bowel start it and put a pice of paper in front of the carb throat and see if it spitting a fuel back.
Or a cheap Amozon pump to confirm but even that’s a crap shoot.

ok first things is never give up...when reassembling these pumps mounting a few critical parts properly helps the reassembly ... mainly the springs ( big and tiny one with mushroom heads.

To make certain they do not flip over I always wet the spring base with crazy glue to hold things vertical. I also wet the spring top to glue on the mushrooms. Makes thing a lot easier to restack the parts. Orientation of the core middle plastic layer is tricky... read the document closely and always finish with a blow test . IN to OUT only to pass air !!

putting your finger on the engine side pulse openning should allow you to feel the pumping pressureas air attempts to leave the crankcase to activate the pump. it should feel rather forcefull. A bit like a finger on a spark plug hole . If not.....pressure is not building up in the crankcase on the downstrokes . Top and bottom crankcase voids are identical but separate cavities. Air should not pass between the two nor should air pressure escape from crankcase seals or reeds . Air pushed OUT of the carb is easy to test with a piece of paper or kleenex in front

I doubt it is your problem. PIA to buy a OEM pump but if it fixes it great.

Patience brings joy.

"putting your finger on the engine side pulse opening should allow you to feel the pumping pressure" As it is running? I can't really feel much when pulling the starter rope.

2 man job.... one pulls one feels you have no options but to confirm pulses or not because buying an expensive OEM square pump will not solve the underlying problem... fuel must reach the carb.
