I just rebuild my 1976 ford 302 and now i have no fire. I just started messing with it again today. I am almost sure all the ground wires are hooked up. I am going to start at the coil, because the boat did sit up for 20 years. Any other suggestion would be great...thanks

Well if you installed and gapped the points correctly and set the dist in correctly and set the firing order correctly and have 12v at the + side of the coil it will run

Make sure your points open and close as the distributor rotates

clean your points. pull the nail file from your wifes purse, run it thru the points twice. then set gap to 0.018. adjust dwell and timing and she will fire assuming you have proper compression and fuel.

99.99% of the time its never the coil

Ayuh,..... That can't be repeated, often enough,.......

Millions of perfectly good coils are tossed into dumpsters every year at boat launches,....
Just because it's really easy, 'n fairly cheap to replace,....
