Is this more like what you wanted to say?

Motor was running fine, then shut off. Ended up being a bad driver coil, replaced yesterday. Now it will not crank. Has spark, gas everything to run. Just want it double checked. Wiring, gas lines, nothing is wrong. Hope someone on here can point me in the right direction. Also new points, condensers and spark plugs

"then shut off" do you mean, you shut it off, or, it quit?

How are you getting spark if the engine is not cranking? What hp is it? Better yet, what is the Model number? Then we will know which engine to look up. Right now it sounds like you put it all together with something shorted out.

Yea that was what I meant to say and the engine will crank not start up and by shut off I mean it quit running while going across the lake and for model number I have no clue right off will have to look later

:welcome: Jeffdoss to iboats. Glad you decided to join us. We like new iboater members...

I don't know what model or HP engine you have, but since you stated you changed the exciter coil and it worked after that, It could be that when you installed the new exciter coil you didn't fit it underneath the flywheel correctly and either the coil itself or the wires were hitting the flywheel and stopped the engine. If you did remove the flywheel, and I think you had to to change parts, did you install teh flywheel correctly back on the tapered shaft. There is a key way and that has to be in the absolute perfect place for the timing to be correct.

Check those things and post the results along with the model number, HP, and year so we can offer better ideas and suggestions. JMHO!

Sorry it's a35 hp seahorse and yes I pulled flywheel I've taken it off since just to be sure nothing hit and it hasn't or any wires been hit or tore but I was careful in putting the flywheel back on where it goes

Was there a key installed when you reinstalled the flywheel? And did you torque the flywheel nut when you reinstalled? If not, I know what your problem is.
