That's great SMG. I sent you a PM. The fuel pump kit arrives today, hopefully I can get it taken care of by the weekend.

850Merc Nice work on the restore and the splash. Not sure if you ever got anything done about that decal, but I thought since I can I would make you a new one. Get with me on PM and I can send you a .eps file that any decal shop can use to make it. I only need to know the size/dimensions of it to complete. BlueFin could take measurements of his and get that to us.;) couple little things to tweek as well.

I cut the sticker/vinyl out of the port console before tear-down; If it's not in storage, I'll get some dimensions tonight.

Wow, that is really really cool. I'll take a measurement on mine, but I think it was only about 6 inches wide. I'll PM right now for the .eps, I can size it in Photoshop too (maybe have a few t-shirts screen printed). You're the man!!

Negative you can't resize in photoshop... well you can but if you do it degrades the quality. this is a .eps file which keeps the quality at any size you make it.
here it is with a few of the tweeks to make the Super Sport txt look more correct and the spacing in the #16 correct.

I see, so this is a raster image? I have the decal at home, I'll measure it tonight. Just my uneducated eye, it looks just like the original!!

Yes the one on here is just a .jpg but if you open the .eps in Photoshop and resize it and resave it will degrade. That's why graphic ppl work with vector graphics/ie .eps. In some cases you have no choice, but they are made in very high detail and not scaled down till in vector program.

7" wide X 2 3/4" tall (as best I can figure). It would sure be nice to replace the original sticker on the passenger side panel. Thanks for hooking me up!!

Some how those dimensions aren't looking quite right. Lets wait and see if bluefin gets a measurement of his. Other wise I need to completely redo it.

Thanks JBC I'm guilty of guesstimating on this one... I have a picture that I measured (in comparison to the background). I have the dang thing laying around, I just can't seem to locate it right now.

We got the boat out this weekend and ran it around a little bit (after doing the fuel pump rebuild) and the problem persists... My buddy believes the carbs need cleaned, perhaps some gunk in one of the jets.

Here is a video from Chatfield on Sunday afternoon. This one at least shows us up to speed, if you pay close attention you can see the engine studder when we give it the spurs.

The gentlemen in the front is my Dad, and the driver is my friend (and PO) Rick.

Yeah definitely a fuel problem alright, for some reason I was under the impression you had rebuilt the carbs. Do you plan on putting the kits in them or just cleaning? If you're going to the trouble of taking them off and apart to clean you may want to kit them. Get a gallon can of carb cleaner to soak them in and put back together with the new parts and gaskets would be my suggestion. I also replaced all of the fuel line in my Johnny from the fuel inlet to the carbs.

The motor on this boat was completely gone through by the PO, the problem lies in that it sat in storage afterwards for about 10 years... It was put away clean, but time does a number on these types of things. We are going to pull the carbs and clean them, if we see damage (such as gaskets, floats, jets) we will fix that too. I'm hoping that a simple cleaning will solve the problem, and I might replace a few more fuel lines while I have the carbs off. I already replaced the fuel line from the quick connect to the fuel strainer on the front of the fuel pump, but the stuff underneath are a little harder to reach without taking stuff apart. Hopefully in a couple weeks it will be back on the water, but for now it sits... The season is rapidly coming to a close here in Colorado, the night are getting cold and we already had 1 snowy morning (rain/snow mix) with about a half inch on the cars.

Hey 850Merc, we were on Chatfield all day 9/13-14. Beautiful weekend! We are having dinner on the boat Thursday, looks like it's going to be a perfect evening. We're going to start our restoration after Halloween.

Hey Memphis, I see you are in my neck of the woods, I live about a stones throw from that lake! I would love to take a look at your project some time, I've had a really great time with this old boat, everything has been so easy with the help of these fine people.

Met up with Memphis117 at Chatfield yesterday, very nice couple and what looks like a great boat for a project. It seemed like the beam was slightly wider on their 16'er than my 16'er but that may have been an illusion? Anyway great to meet you guys!

We did some camping the night before with the boy scouts at the same lake, very pretty sunset and a good time.

We ran in to another Jupiter at the same time, in fact I introduced myself to them by mistake while looking for Memphis. Oops!

Still fighting fuel delivery problems with the SS, I swapped gaskets on the fuel pump and my buddy cleaned the carbs to no avail... I think I need to ACTUALLY rebuild the fuel pump, I'm going to find a better rebuild kit today (hopefully).

Youtube video to follow.

Looks like you found all the Starcrafts on your lake, 850. And both Jupiters, to boot! :D You must be running out of good weather up there.

Fuel pump kits are cheap. If you have a Merc dealer nearby, see if they have an OEM Merc kit. I'm finding out the aftermarket rubber parts aren't as good as OEM. Just an opinion.
