Hello all,
New to iboats but have been reading info for over a month now and some great info is to be gained. I have this outboard from my uncle who passed and want to put it on my 17'fishing boat. The problem is I want to see how good it runs seeing as it has been awhile since it was last run, but still in great condition. I don't have the throttle cables and will need to find a replacement, if I still can. So here is what I need to know to try and start.
I don't have it on the boat(still at dock with a 85hp chrysler piece of crap outboard) on it. So the wires are not hooked up to any ignition, can I hook the red and black power wires to a battery and then short the coil to get the starter to engage. any help would be greatly appreciated!
