Hello everyone, I new to the site and need some help with some work on a friends boat. He just purchased a glastron and it is in need of some love.
The previous owner layed a new floor over what was there and when we pulled it up cause the screws were rotten that held it to the stringer, we noticed a drill hole thru the hull so another fixed added to the list.
We are going to replace the stringer, floor and the transom needs some fixing. Its just the fiberglass that needs repair as the wood is still good cause we did some core checks on it and was still solid.
The stringer is shot so we have taken that out along with the whole floor. I have a few ? about the bilge as I noticed that there was two holes drilled into it but were up high and if water go under the floor how is it surpose to get out.
I will post pic of what needs to be done and really really really would like some help to have it done as best as we can. I have experience with working with fiberglass from work, but not restoring boats so laying glass is not a issue. I just need to know what to use were on the repair's.
I have done a lot of reading and have ideas on what needs to be done but just want to be sure. It only going to be used as a fishing boat to have fun as we are sick of land fishing. Well hear are some pics of what needs to be done.......
