Sweet a 180...hopefully you'll find a nice 175 in perfect condition for very little money...the way you have built it up, you might even find a nice 200 that weighs about the same as a 175...that would be like...woooooooo....

I'd be happy with anything over a 100hp, the fish don't care how fast I get to them.

Is that plug compatible with brass drain tube? I was planning on using 3M 5200 to seal the tube in.

Thanks trooper! I'm going to park it at a storage lot where I already have an enclosed trailer. They charge me $40 a month, and don't care what I do out there. Mostly truckers store their rigs and work on them there.

So I was thinking more of an inside structure to lay a tarp over and fasten to the trailer. I have two 10x10 EZ-UP tents already that I can use to work under and out of the sun.

For a little over 100 bucks ya can get a 10x20 canopy at Tractor supply....

Thanks RR,nice find! I'll save that for future storage options.

Isn't that the truth...

The outside diameter of the part that goes in the drain hole is right at 1" + about .010...so if the brass drain tube has an inside diameter just a hair over 1", you would be good to go...that is something I am going to look into when the time comes for a permanent install...

Thank you! I still have a long way to go, as you'll see when you get home. I host the photos on my own server, I bets that's why you can't see them.

Got the boat to storage lot today, and we are expecting heavy rain tonight. I went ahead and bought a boat cover from NT, it was $80, but quality IMO, it has elastic all the way around and tie downs with clips. I built some PVC supports to shed the water, hopefully it'll work out, we'll see tomorrow.

Thanks for checking in on me Trooper, all is good here, but I'm nowhere near getting this boat wet. I got the boat covered in a storage lot with a boat cover and PVC inside supports to shed the water off. I still have a bunch of work to do on the hull, just nowhere to do the work. I'm shopping for a generator so I can work in the lot, and saving $$$ for a outboard in the meantime. If all goes well and I have no emergency expenses, I might have it on the lake by end of summer.

Any updates? Very interested in this project. I'm new to boating and new to iboats. Just picked up a 1978 Venture Magnum with a Mercury 1150 - not sure it's in as good of shape as yours when you started, but the motor runs.

You've done awesome work here, vcaptain. You have a vessel here that is better than new. Looking forward to seeing the finished project.

Now to go learn some more from this great site...

Welcome to Iboats Judge, I apologize it's taken me so long to respond. If you have read most of my posts, you'd see that I lost my place to work on it. Then numerous financial situations have happened, so really I have made ZERO progress since the last photo. I might be able to make some progress soon, we'll see. I look forward to watching your rebuild, please send me a link if you can.
