ACK! Apologies for not getting any up! :( I'll uncover the boat and get it up and pics snapped and posted tonight sir!

QUESTION (Its important, cant ya tell by the BOLD? :D

Which type of guide on trailer doodads do you guys like with your SC's? I've been contemplating some and have not been able to figure out which are better and why. Most of the time I can hit my trailer straight without a retry but loading would be WAY FASTER if my wife could easily drive the boat on instead of me driving the trailer down, driving the boat over and on, hooking up and then pulling it out. She refuses too now because she is afraid she'll miss the rollers AND she also refuses to back the trailer in... Anyways, improvements would help on getting the tub out of the water (and lord knows those $30,000+ boat owners on the fancy pants lakes like Lake Minnetonka here in MN don't have much for patience!).

I already have these but they do not do much for hitting the rollers straight:

CES-27620_med.jpg

The two kinds I have been contemplating adding:

1. CES-27610_med.jpg

2. 41UPI-bagtL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

I like the bunks off the bat as I am not a roller type fan (even though the current trailer is a roller...go figure). I would rather have carpeting catching the boat rather than a stuck roller and then rubber marks all over.

Thoughts?

THANKS!

Chuck

bunks without a doubt, but go with longer ones and weld em to trailer....those things are infamous for falling off after the hdwe loosens up

Thanks Barrato and EZ! I kind of thought the bunks were a better overall deal but I didnt think to go longer... Begs the question if I ought to convert the roller trailer to a bunk trailer this winter... Depends, I guess, on what I get rolling on.

Thanks again!

Chuck, we have had the same problem with the rear bimini top poles or straps getting in the way of fishing. I found a great way to fix it. If you don't have a snap tool, stop at an upholstery shop and get them to install a couple for you once you have every thing ready. Put the top up with the poles or rear straps in place. I took a couple of old boat cover nylon web straps with the tighting slide on them, (the upholstery shop might be able to make a couple if you don't have any). Find the center of the rear edge of the top material and measure 10"s either side of center and put a mark, install a male snap here. Take your straps and if your boat had a convertable top there will be male snaps on the rear side of the top of the slpash well. The idea is to put the straps from two of those snaps too the ones in the bimini top with a cross in them forming an X, you can tighten the top with the buckles and it keeps the sides open for fishing. We have run down the lake using these straps and found the top is more stable than using the poles.

A couple quick pics of myself and a couple buds out on Minnetonka. Hit up big island and then HIGHTAILED it back to the landing as the rain was driving across the water! It was chilly but as always totally fun! You.just.cant.beat.boating!

Still didn't get to use the Big Mable :( We were planning on it but failure to have a working inflation device failed us AND the fact it was a bit cold and rain was inevitable was the final deterrent from blowing the whole darn thing up! That is twice now where I / we were planning to see how well it runs behind the boat and the day has ended up 71 degrees or colder and rainy. Might be a bad luck tube?

And one more...

IMG_0340.jpg
It was raining on the west side of the lake but did not get to us.

IMG_0348.jpg
Morning on the fourth Day from Lake of The Woods.

IMG_0349.jpg
291/4 inch Walleye, biggest fish I have ever caught. Shes in the freezer awaiting drop off at the taxidermist. Going to mount it and have is hung on my wall. Could not believe it was a Walleye when I pulled it up, thought for sure it was a Sturgeon...

IMG_0355.jpg
26" caught about an hour later. Beautiful fish that went back to swim another day.

IMG_0359.jpg
Evening of the 4th Day. Nothing better than eating part of your catch, on the edge of the Rainy River watching the evening boats come racing in! I am kid when it comes to boats...could watch this view for hours and then some

I love me some boat time and fishing!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I love being in the boat with my two little men. They catch one fish and its like the only fish in the world has been caught and the sky should be filling with fireworks like its the last show ever! I love that most about fishing with them, every fish, every catch is the best one yet! :)

Lake of the Woods, if you ever get the chance to come on up (Except a few of you from up there in Canada would have to go horizontal or down even) is worth any drive to fish. I had never been before this trip and it was like being a kid all over again and in the candy store except the candy at my age is covered in scales! We caught around 70 fish each of the 4 days we were there. Most of them were in the 10" - 13" range and boat rules is nothing under 14" for Eye's. Strong year for little ones this year is what we heard at the local pub in the evenings. But wade through all the little ones and you'd hook in to some real good eating sizes of 14" - 17" and once in awhile a biggun'. Anyways, fishing at a local lake now is going to seem even more slow...I was spoiled up there. Highly recommend the trip if you can ever do it!
