1979 6hp Johnson cuts out.

The motor runs really good, but when I'm tooling along WOT, it will just stop in it's tracks. This doesn't seem to be a fuel issue, and even if I use the prime bulb when it cuts out, it makes no difference. Any ideas??

Have you checked spark when it quits? Is the engine overheating? How do you get it started again?

No, I haven't checked spark when it cuts out, but I will do that. Once it quites, it takes about 10 minutes to get it started again. It spits out water really good and I did change the impeller.

So, if it has no spark, would it be safe to assume that it's the control module??

could be that or just coils.
