Euro, you are the man! Thanks allot for the effort, I really do appreciate it. When I took the starter apart, that wire was offof the brush and it was out of its "housing" so it wasn't doing anything anyways, so prob just get a new one. I just gave this boat to my brother so I think shelling out 125$ won't totally upset him!<br /><br />I couldn't find a solenoid on that site, am I mising it?<br /><br />Thanks again, I will keep you posted

Are you sure your solinoid is bad? Read this thread to test it Solinoid test <br /><br />Look at the picture I posted there. If that looks like your solinoid and yours is definatly bad let me know. That one is a spare I got on ebay. If you can cover postage I can mail it to you.

Euro, reading this test you had given to try I am thinking that since I was going to disconnect he pos to starter that I can do this test with the starter NOT on the motor correct?<br /><br />Thanks!

correct. The photo I posted on the other thread I had it hooked up on my work bench. Just connect the negative battery charger lead to the mounting ear on the solinoid and the postitive lead of the charger to where the small (probably yellow and gray wire ) was attached. The current draw on the solinoid will be about 4 amps so you will need at least a 6 amp battery charger to do this.<br />

Well, rebuilt the carb and put in a new starter. Turned over awesome! However, no start.<br /><br />I am pretty sure I am not getting any spark. What is the best way to test, or the first place I should start?<br /><br />Thanks!

I hope someone else can help you with this. I have been lucky and have never had ignition problems. I would start by testing the plugs for spark. Ground the threads to motor ground. I use a wire wrapped around the threads and tie the other end to a screw on the motor that is grounded. connect the plug wires to the plugs and have someone else hit the starter and watch for the spark. You should do this in a dark room. Also can you post a picture of your Terminal strip? You might want to think about starting a new thread. This one is getting pretty long and it is a new topic.<br /><br />Wouldnt hurt to do a compression test while you are doing this. You can get one for 30 bucks at Sears or any automotive parts dealer.

Thanks Euro. You are correct, I should prob start a new thread. I have a compression tester also, I bought it for my other boat. Haven't used it, but I have it!<br /><br />By terminal strip you mean in the engine, aft of my starter right?
