1979 evinrude 140 tilt and trim issues

After returning to the ramp on my last outing, my tilt and trim stopped working. My service manual covers the t-n-t for this outboard, but I suspect the unit was installed on the outboard some time later, as it is a two wire harness instead of three wire, possibly early '80's. Long story short, I had to loosen the manual release valve to lift the outboard by hand to ready it for trailering. Once home, I discovered the fuse in the relay harness was blown. I now have two major problems.

1) I have no idea as to the size of this blown fuse. All writing has worn off, or is simply non-existent.

And
?
2) the unit now has a masive trim fluid leak at the manual release valve after retightening. I found this out while testing. (bypassed the above mentioned blown fuse in the relay harness)
?
If anyone can assist with these two issues, I'd be most grateful for your help in resolving them. Many thanks in advance!

You'll be needing a 20 amp fuse...........You'll have to remove the manual release valve and install a new oring..........be sure to remove the C- clip before taking it out.

Many thanks for the reply, boobie! Your help is very appreciated. I can clearly see that the o ring is damaged. However, I am having a very difficult time finding the snap ring??? Am I looking for something that isn't even there? Noticed you mentioned a c-clip in your post. Any tips for removal? Snap ring pliers are just not going to cut it. Also, can I use an o-ring from most any automotive store? Thanks again!

Sorry, meant to say snap ring. It may not be there but double check. Any BRP dlr should have the correct oring.

Can you help with a part number on the o-ring? The only number I have is for the MRV assembly.

511386 is the fuse. 202893 is the oring. 287990 is the valve and seal- if you find it is bad. You can look up your own parts at the factory website: epc.brp.com.
