Re: 1979 SeaKing 9HP K900 Won't hold Fuel pressure
Well sir.... back again.... I got my parts from Discount marine parts yesterday. I installed the fuel pump and that worked great. I decided to hold up on the impeller change since it had a fair amount and mist coming out of the (pee hole) So i took it to a small lake yesterday to see how she would perform.... Started it up backed it out... got past the last no wake buoy and told my son to HOLD ON!!... cranked it to full and got my GPS out. Now, I have a 12 foot aluminum row boat, I weight 200 lbs and my son weighs about 60 lbs. It got us up to a blistering 5MPH it sounded like it wanted to go faster because it wasn't real smooth. Now i haven't done anything else to this motor (like clean the carb and god knows how long it sat in someones garage) But, I'm thinking something is wrong with the fast idle circuit? I don't know... All I can tell you is I was so disappointed yesterday I wanted to use it as a anchor... My son was saying... geez dad,,, i thought this was going to be faster then your old scott atwater... Well, it should have been.... the 1953 Scott atwater 5hp i had pushed us to 7MPH. Mr Crabs.... do you have any ideas other then sell both of them and get a johnson or Merc?
